Clamshell Mounted Bearings

     These 16-gauge versatile mountings are part of the diverse line of our spherical, self-aligning bearings. They were designed for a wide variety of light duty applications as they are narrower and adjustable compared to other mounted bearings. By altering the length of bolt (sold as part of bearing) and adding an extension tube or other type of spacer, a mounting height of up to several inches can be furnished.

Clamshell mounts carry our H series, self-aligning bearings with either oil cups or grease fittings. Non-standard bolt lengths more than 5/16” can be special ordered with a minimum purchase of 100.

Applications:

• When the mounting area is not large enough to accommodate a standard Pillow Block
• Close center to center distance between two or more shafts
• Special shaft center height above mounting base - not available in standard blocks except by shimming
• Economy or speed required in assembly by use of only one mounting bolt
• Used in apple-washing machines
