Spherical Bearing Load Data: Sintered Bronze & Iron Material

Spherical Bearing Load Data: Sintered Bronze & Iron Material

View Triangle Manufacturing's spherical plain bearing load data. All load data you see below was obtained by statically testing a large sample size of spherical plain bearings of each specific size.

Spherical Plain Bearing Load Data

  • The static load limit is the main value that was obtained by testing. It is the force it takes for the spherical plain bearing's bore diameter to change 1/2 total tolerance allowed.
  • The bore diameter is within the tolerance up to this force. It is not recommended to exceed this value.
  • The static load rating is the max force the ball & ring assembly can take before failure due to either the ball cracking or permanent set created in the ball causing it to lock in place.
  • Due to the wide variety of scenarios and by-use cases of the spherical plain bearings, a dynamic load rating cannot be found directly.
  • The dynamic load rating shown was obtained by taking 1/3 the value of the static load rating.

ABOUT TRIANGLE'S SPHERICAL PLAIN BEARINGS

Triangle's spherical plain bearings are manufactured from sintered material and are available in sintered bronze and sintered iron bearing material.

Benefits of Triangle's spherical plain bearings

  • A spherical plain bearing weighs half that of a similar-sized needle or roller bearing.
  • Spherical plain bearings are the most cost-effective alternative to a ball bearing.
  • Reduced parts and simpler overall design results in lower maintenance with fewer components that can break or need repair.
  • Spherical plain bearings, even when slightly mis-aligned, do not concentrate loads on balls or rollers, but distribute them consistently and evenly. They accomodate small changes in pressure better than more complicated bearings.
  • Because all of Triangle's spherical plain bearings are sintered and are oil-impregnated with SAE30 non-detergent oil, they stay lubricated throughout the bearing's life-span which results in less maintenance for you.
  • Triangle's spherical plain bearings have a larger surface area than rolling-element bearings. Engineers can use space-saving smaller plain bearings that accomodate similar, and sometimes even heavier loads than needle or ball bearings.
